The challenges of maintaining continuous data production often result in experts handling the same information or data day after day, month after month. We wanted to create a solution that would free experts to focus on what truly requires their expertise – analysis and insights.

Our mission is to make expert work smoother and more productive—without unnecessary hype—simply by making things work better. This idea led us to establish Robonomist in 2019. Over the years, we’ve developed a family of software robots that automatically collect, update, and present data. Five years later, we can confidently say that our vision is being realized in our clients’ organizations: experts are now able to focus on what truly matters—solving economic challenges, interpreting information, and supporting decision-making.

When we got started, there were few commercial solutions available for knowledge work, and open-source tools—especially for data publishing and visualization—were often clunky. The real challenge for our product and service development has been the automation of updating data, visualizations, and publications. That’s why we built custom software robots capable of handling complex and repetitive tasks—such as collecting data from various sources, preprocessing it, and producing reports. Our in-house tools are designed to adapt flexibly to client needs, whether it’s about data retrieval, analysis, or automating reporting. This flexibility allows us to offer tailored solutions for a wide range of organizations—we serve the public sector, municipalities, government agencies, and private companies alike.

What motivates us is a desire to make data genuinely useful and impactful, and to bring the full potential of public data into society. We believe data is still an underutilized resource in both public and private sector decision-making. Our goal is to harness the power of open data and ensure organizations have access to reliable, up-to-date information to support their decisions. Leveraging public data is not just a resource—it’s a way to promote transparency and efficiency across society.

That’s why we’ve developed a broad range of data services based on public data and the expertise of our top specialists. Recently, we’ve focused especially on creating data services tailored to the needs of organizations—services that provide decision-makers with timely and trustworthy information. We’ve built customized solutions that help our clients navigate complex economic environments and make better decisions.

Robonomist was born when the company’s founders, Juha and Otto, grew tired of the endless routine tasks of expert work.
